Boob aerobics...?

I am so proud to say that today for the first time in 15 months I found my way back to the gym. I knew the only way for me to be successful at working out was to be a part of a class. If I were to run on a treadmill, I would give up at the first feeling of pain or tiredness, which in my case happens after about 3 mins of cardio. If I am in a group of people the thought of being a weenie or giving up before the senior citizen next to me is so embarrassing I am forced to push through the pain. So I decided to have my first workout be a 1 hour aerobics class. Not sure this was the wisest decision but I did make it the entire time and only took 8 breaks and fell twice! As I was stepping, jumping and kicking in front of a very large mirror I noticed that I had some unusual movement under my clothes.   It seems the loose post pregnancy skin flopped in the opposite direction as my body. Occasionally my stomach flab got to moving so fast it actually knocked me off balance, therefore explaining my two falls!

During aerobics I noticed that my nursing bra was not quite doing it's job of keeping my boobs out of my face and in an oxygen deprived moment I wondered why we only have bras for our boobs? Why not have a thigh bra or a butt bra, they need to be held in place too?

Anyway I made it through my first class and I am proud to say that I can still walk and I have only had one glass of wine.  I really like working out and I hope to be consistent but I must come up with someway to strap down that extra skin or I could end up seriously hurt!
Oh.. and Cole thoroughly enjoyed to post aerobics milkshake! =)

Four month pictures!

Four month update

I have thought about updating my blog many times but I never know what to write because there have not been any major events in our home. Of course there are many things that I get excited about but only another mother would understand! Most will think I am crazy but here is the exciting five month update:

Cole is almost five months old and he is getting more and more cute everyday. He has become very animated and often squeals with delight! He thinks it is so funny when mommy also squeals so you can imagine how ridiculous we sound. His personality is definitely coming out and I can best describe him as an intense baby. He tries very hard to get toys in his mouth but when he can't he gets very upset and cries and throws the toy. He reminds me of his daddy who threw a printer out a second story window when he got mad that it wouldn't work! Cole is very scared of loud noises and does not like the sun or wind in his face. He tries to put everything in his mouth, including the dog's ears, his toes, his mommy's food and the telephone while mommy is talking on it! Raelynn calls him a slobber machine because he is constantly drooling. We suspect he might be teething but we are not sure. He loves bath time with daddy. He likes to swim in the deep water, kick his legs and splash. He also loves to drink the bath water!!

Most of the time, Cole sleeps great. I get so excited when we have a good day! Yesterday he took TWO two hour naps in his own crib!!!! I try to get him to take a pacifier everyday and he always refuses but yesterday he took it for at 30 seconds! Yea, we are making progress! On Monday he rolled from his back to his stomach for the first time! Mommy was so excited while Cole cried, I am not sure if he cried because he was shocked by his own movements or because I yelled when I saw him. And the most exciting is he went from eating every two hours for past four months to eating every three hours and even an occasional four hour stretch! He loves to stand up, kick and wiggle. He is in constant motion. He is approximately 13 pounds and just graduated from a size 1 diaper to a size 2 and he is now in size 3 mths clothes. He is growing so fast and has already lost some desire to cuddle. Each day is different, some are a challenge and others are so easy and wonderful.

As for me, I am still loving being a stay at home mother but this week I finally experienced being board. It has been rainy and cold all week so we haven't been able to get outside. He has taken really long naps so I have done all the laundry, the house is clean, the meals are planned and this week I don't have any home studies to do! I have taken naps, organized drawers and cabinet in the house. I have been working on my scrapbook and I am almost done with all my 2008 pictures! I have watched more HGTV and Law and Order re-runs than I care to admit! Today I am feeling a little cooped up but not enough to get out in the cold rain. I have tried to do some baking which is not good for my figure or for the budget! I spent more on groceries in the last month than a family of five would spend! Yikes! I am really looking forward to having Chris and Raelynn home this weekend!
