Cole has been sick this past week with more ear infections. He has been very clingy to me and to his blanket and pacifier. Of course he has several nice monogrammed blankets but he decided to make this plain blue piece of cotton material his favorite. I borrowed it from Mary when he was one month old to use as a swaddle blanket and he has slept with every night since. These past couple of days he will not go anywhere without his blanket and pacifier. I think it is pretty cute now but I realize breaking the habit may not be as cute.
He is almost 16 months old and growing up so fast. He now has an opinion about everything. He can shake his head no or yes and likes to answer every question. He still doesn't say much, only mama, dada and choo choo but he knows a ton. He can point at your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and he pulls his shirt up to show you his belly. I can ask him questions like "where is the ball", "where is the bear" and he can point to the appropriate object. Yesterday I asked him if he wanted to go outside and he ran to the back door and then I told I need to put on his shoes so he ran to his room and was looking for his shoes! I am a little biased but I think he is so smart!

Maybe this is the wrong way to think about it, but I think the attachment to pacy's and blankets is WELL worth the fight when it is time to take them away. They just seem to comforted by them that they play better and sleep better with them! Just let him enjoy them for now, don't worry about taking them away yet!
I agree with Mary. I have my M&Ms, a hot bath, a warm hubby. Let him have his blanket and pacy. AndI agree, he is one smart water skipper!!
