Great snack idea

I have been on the search for some good healthy snacks for Cole. He eats so many pre-packaged snacks such as crackers, goldfish, etc. At the grocery store, I got a free sample of a new fruit smoothie from Yoplait. I gave it to Cole and he liked it so much he started crying when it was gone. I bought a couple packages and they were great. It is frozen fruit, frozen yogurt and you add one cup of milk. They taste wonderful but are a little pricey ($3.00 for two servings). So today I decided to make my own fruit smoothies.

I went to Sam's and bought a large bag of frozen blueberries ($5.00), a large container of fresh strawberries ($3.00) and banana's ($1.50) that I cut and put in the freezer and bluebell frozen yogurt ($5.00). So for $14.50 I have enough fruit and yogurt to make many fruit smoothies.

I also made Cole a chocolate milkshake made with frozen yogurt, whole milk and chocolate flavored protein powder! He rarely eats meat so I have been trying to find a way to give him more protein and this worked perfectly! Of course, he loves both of the snacks and now he get very excited when he sees me get the blender out!

Milkshakes and smoothies are a great snack when your sitting outside on a hot afternoon!

Sounds great for hot summers too. I need to think to do it more often. The frozen fruit makes it really affordable...
