18 months

18 months has been such a fun but yet challenging age. Cole has started to become more independent. He wants to do things himself but usually he can't do it (like putting his shoes) so he gets frustrated and throws a fit. He is so curious about everything and often cracks us up! Here are some pictures from the last month:

Cole is completely obsessed with choo choo's. We live near a train and he runs to the door every time he hears the train. I enjoy taking him to the zoo to ride the train. Each time we go he acts like it is the first time he has seen it. It is so fun and hard not too feed to obsession!

Cole also LOVES brushing his teeth. I think it started because his toothpaste has Thomas the Train on it. We let him hold the toothbrush but it is always a fight and fit to get it out of hands. We have to keep it hidden during the day or he will scream and cry if he sees it!

Cole had his 18 month check up and the good news is he finally made it on to the growth chart! Now he is in the 5th % of weight. He weighs 21.4 pounds! I promise we feed him but he just doesn't gain much weight. He still wears size 12 months clothes. But it worked well we were able to use all the same clothes he wore last fall! Cole is a little behind in his speech but we are not worried. He can say "moma", "dada", "choo choo", "bubble" and "pawpaw." Although he doesn't say much he knows lots of sign language and he is able to communicate with us well. He can ask for more, for help, for milk, he can say please and thank you, he can tell me he wants to eat. And just today he used the sign for cereal! He may not talk yet but he sure knows what he wants!
